About the role
Pinnacle Early Education, located in the heart of Berala, is seeking a skilled, motivated and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing nutritious, fresh and child-friendly meals and who shares our commitment to providing high-quality care and education for young children.
Pinnacle Early Education is ACECQA rated as Meeting the National Quality Standard and is licensed for up to 36 children per day, caring for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.
Skills & ExperienceThe successful applicant will have:
Current NSW Working With Children Check
Current Police Check
Australian working rights
Recognised qualification in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery or a related field
Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates
Current CPR certification
Current Child Protection certification
Previous experience preparing meals for children is highly desirable
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to cater for allergies, dietary requirements and cultural preferences
A positive, reliable and professional attitude
Willingness to undertake additional training and recommended courses as required
Prepare healthy, nutritious and child-friendly meals and snacks in line with the centre's menu and the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
Cater for children's allergies, dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Follow appropriate food handling, storage and temperature control procedures.
Order food and kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels and minimise food waste.
Ensure compliance with NSW food safety requirements and relevant early childhood education and care regulations.
Maintain accurate food safety and kitchen records as required.
Work collaboratively with the Centre Director and educators to support the nutritional needs of the children.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
Salary package based on skills, qualifications and experience.
Part-time position, with the potential to transition to full-time for the right applicant.
Centre operating hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Closed on public holidays and for two weeks over the Christmas period.

Convenient location, approximately a 10-minute walk from Berala Station and the local shopping village.
