About the role
Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
Join St John of God Ballarat Hospital, one of Victoria’s premier regional private hospitals, where our dedicated team delivers high-quality, compassionate care to the Ballarat community and surrounding regions.
With 256 beds and a broad range of services including maternity, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, day surgery and emergency care, you’ll work alongside experienced caregivers and medical specialists in a modern, supportive environment.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Pharmacist to join our team as Deputy Director of Pharmacy, supporting the Director of Pharmacy in providing clinical and operational leadership to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy services and positive patient outcomes.
The Position
Support the Director of Pharmacy in leading and managing the hospital's Pharmacy Service, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Pharmacy Board of Victoria requirements, SHPA standards and hospital policies.
Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication reviews, patient education and collaboration with medical and multidisciplinary teams.
Support the safe storage, supply and distribution of medications, including chemotherapy services for inpatients and outpatients.
Support the leadership, development and rostering of the Pharmacy team, including coaching, mentoring and performance development.
Assist with the management of pharmacy operations, including stock, dispensing, manufacturing and technician activities.
Provide medication and drug information to patients, medical practitioners and hospital staff.
Contribute to strategic planning, quality improvement, risk management and ongoing service development.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative, high-quality patient care.
Contribute to staff education, professional development, committees and relevant hospital initiatives.
Promote a positive team culture aligned with St John of God Health Care's Mission and Values.
About You
You will be a qualified Pharmacist with current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA), with demonstrated clinical and leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. You will have the ability to support the delivery of high standards of clinical practice, governance and medication safety, while contributing to the effective leadership and development of the Pharmacy team.
You will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to manage competing priorities, support team development and contribute to continuous improvement will be essential.

We can offer you
Salary $121,134- $136,003 (pro rata basis for part time) plus 12% superannuation
