The Opportunity
Join Monash University's School of Mathematics as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Discrete Mathematics (Level B or C) and contribute to world-class teaching and research in one of Australia's leading mathematics schools.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across the School of Mathematics to advance research in discrete mathematics, deliver outstanding teaching, and support the development of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Research areas of interest include combinatorics, graph theory, design theory, and algebra with a combinatorial flavour.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:
Delivering high-quality teaching and curriculum development, including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops and seminars, developing subject and course materials, coordinating courses (Level C), and fostering an engaging learning environment for students.
Conducting and advancing impactful research in discrete mathematics, building a strong publication profile, contributing to collaborative research projects, supervising honours and postgraduate research students, and, at Senior Lecturer level, leading research initiatives and securing external research funding.
Contributing to the academic life of the School, including student consultation and mentoring, assessment and marking, professional engagement, committee participation, and broader service activities that support the School's teaching, research and strategic objectives.
