Role Description We are seeking a proactive and organised Assistant Building Manager to join our team in Sydney. Working alongside the Senior Facilities Manager and supported by NEWERA’s wider operations team, you will assist with daily building operations, inspections, maintenance coordination, contractor management, compliance and occupant requests. This is a hands-on position offering structured support and a genuine pathway towards becoming a Building Manager.
Key Responsibilities Support daily building operations and presentation standardsConduct inspections of common areas, facilities and building systemsCoordinate contractor access and monitor service deliveryFollow up maintenance requests, repairs and outstanding work ordersMaintain compliance registers, service records and site documentationSupport WHS, fire safety, emergency and building compliance processesIdentify and report defects, hazards and operational risksRespond professionally to occupant enquiriesAssist with reviewing quotations, invoices and completed worksContribute to building improvement, sustainability and efficiency initiativesEscalate urgent, sensitive or safety-related matters appropriately
QualificationsPrevious experience in facilities, property, maintenance, concierge or a related operational roleStrong organisation, communication and follow-throughConfidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate recordsA practical understanding of maintenance and contractor coordinationThe ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressureA hands-on, solutions-focused approachA willingness to develop technical and compliance knowledgeA genuine interest in building a career in facilities management
