About the role
Rothwell Lawyers is a well-established Melbourne CBD law firm which practices in in insolvency, commercial law, debt recovery, conveyancing and wills & estates. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to our clients, with a strong focus on professionalism, attention to detail and practical outcomes.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Administration Assistant to join our close-knit team on a part-time basis (approximately 15 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexibility, including those returning to the workforce, who enjoys working in a varied role where no two days are the same.
About the RoleReporting directly to the Principal, your responsibilities will include:
Managing the firm's legal trust account in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law and Rules.
Trust account receipting, payments and reconciliations.
General office accounts, including accounts payable and receivable.
Processing invoices.
Reception relief and telephone enquiries as required.
Providing administrative support to solicitors and support staff.
General office coordination and other ad hoc administrative duties.
The successful applicant will have:
Previous experience in a legal office.
Experience managing or assisting with a legal trust account (essential).
Strong understanding of legal trust accounting obligations.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with legal practice management software (ActionStep experience will be highly regarded).
