Clinical Nurse Consultant (Pain Management)

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert clinician who provides leadership, specialist advice, and evidence-based recommendations on all aspects of pain management across service groups, multidisciplinary teams, and diverse patient populations. The CNC plays a pivotal role in promoting high-quality, safe, and person-centred pain management practices while aligning clinical service delivery with the strategic priorities and goals of the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

You will make a significant contribution to clinical governance, policy development, practice improvement, education, and research. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the CNC will lead initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, support workforce capability, and drive continuous quality improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• A registered nurse who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in a critical care field and a post registration qualification in pain management specialty.

• Proven clinical leadership with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong collaborative skills in clinical service planning, with an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management, and cultural change processes.

• The ability to formulate and implement policies, guide clinical practice development, and contribute to education and research initiatives.

• Proven clinical leadership skills in quality, research and/or education and demonstrated critical thinking capabilities.
