Wholesale Manager

Galleria Toyota is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Wholesale Manager to lead our wholesale vehicle buying operations.

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, you will manage and develop a team of Wholesale Buyers responsible for sourcing quality used vehicle stock that meets the dealership’s requirements and supports strong gross margins.

This is a senior, hands-on position requiring excellent automotive market knowledge, leadership capability and the ability to identify profitable vehicle purchasing opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership, direction and support to the Wholesale Buyers

• Aligning vehicle purchasing activities with the dealership’s broader business plan

• Meeting with the buying team daily to determine priority vehicle types and sourcing opportunities

• Maintaining the right stock mix for the Used Vehicle Department

• Monitoring online listings, market pricing and vehicle demand

• Conducting onsite and offsite trade-in valuations for the New, Fleet and Used Vehicle Departments

• Ensuring purchased vehicles meet applicable Toyota Certified vehicle standards

• Establishing long-term relationships with wholesale suppliers and other vehicle sources

• Identifying private purchasing opportunities and following up vehicles not traded as part of a sale

• Processing vehicle purchase and buy-in documentation

• Monitoring sales revenue, margins and departmental expenses

• Reporting performance against targets, including variances and revised projections

• Recruiting, training and developing members of the wholesale buying team

• Promoting Galleria Toyota, Regent Motors Group and the Toyota brand

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• At least two years’ experience in a similar automotive management role, or extensive automotive sales experience with a proven record of success

• Strong knowledge of the used vehicle market, pricing and stock requirements

• Demonstrated vehicle valuation and purchasing experience

• The ability to understand and profile the needs of a Used Vehicle Department

• Excellent negotiation and commercial decision-making skills

• Strong leadership and team-development capabilities

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

• The ability to build profitable relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• A current and valid driver’s license

• A current and valid Yard Manager’s License

• A satisfactory National Police Clearance issued within the previous three months, or the ability to obtain one

Experience in a vehicle management position and established automotive industry relationships will be highly regarded.
