About the role
- Driving is not required initially, but access to a family car may become available in the future
- Experience with energetic toddlers is highly desirable
- Child has allergies to onions and soy
Our easygoing and busy North Kellyville family is seeking a reliable, nurturing and energetic Mother’s Helper to support Mum with the care of their energetic 3-year-old daughter. Mum owns a business and is looking for someone who can confidently care for her daughter and provide her with uninterrupted time to focus on her work.
The child is a happy, active and social toddler who enjoys being outdoors, playing, dancing, singing, sensory activities and exploring. The family values connection, gentle boundaries, calm co-regulation and supporting her development through age-appropriate activities and interactions.
Mum works from home and will initially be present during most shifts. The successful candidate will need to be confident engaging the child independently, understanding toddler development and keeping her safely and happily occupied while Mum works. Some of Mum’s work takes place in the kitchen, so it is particularly important that the child is safely engaged away from the kitchen during these periods.
The family is looking for someone who is reliable, genuinely enjoys working with toddlers, understands child development and is willing to work collaboratively with Mum to support the family. The ideal nanny will be genuinely playful, energetic and engaged, with the patience and confidence to meet a high-energy toddler at her level while remaining calm, nurturing and safety-conscious.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive and enthusiastic, and who is looking to build a trusting relationship with the family over the longer term.
Nanny Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Building a warm and trusting relationship with the child and the family
• Providing attentive and engaged care for the child while Mum works
• Organising age-appropriate indoor and outdoor play
• Taking the child to local parks and encouraging outdoor activities
• Engaging in sensory play, reading, singing, dancing and creative activities
• Following the child's daily routine, including her snack and nap routine
• Supporting calm co-regulation and gentle behaviour management
• Providing a safe, attentive and stimulating environment
• Being proactive, observant and responsive to the child's needs
• Preparing or offering prepared snacks as required
• No household cleaning or general housekeeping required, with the focus entirely on childcare
To apply, you MUST have the following experience, attitude, and qualifications:
• Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain ASAP)
• Previous professional experience caring for toddlers or young children
• At least 2 Australian-based child-related references preferred
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain ASAP)
• Current National Criminal Record Check
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Warm, nurturing and patient personality
• High energy and enthusiasm for active play
• Confident working independently while Mum is at home
• Strong understanding of child safety and supervision
• Non-smoker
