Company: Moksha Catering Pty Ltd (T/A Moksha Fine Dining Indian)
A full-time Tandoor Cook position is available at our Indian cuisine restaurant, offering high quality traditional and authentic Indian dishes.
Generous salary package of $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
Requirements:
· Relevant AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV or at least 3 years of relevant cooking experience if no formal qualifications.
· At least 1 year of full-time work experience as a Tandoor Cook in an Indian cuisine restaurant.
Key Tasks:
· Perform duties as directed by the Head Chef.
· Cut, chop, and prepare vegetables, seafood, and meats.
· Prepare marinades, spice masalas, and sauces for entrees and main meals.
· Operate the tandoor, prepare and cook naan breads, tikkas, kebabs and other tandoori dishes.
· Cook other Indian dishes using traditional recipes and cooking methods, including boiling, frying and steaming.
· Maintain safe temperatures for grills, ovens, and other cooking equipment.
· Apportion food into serving dishes and garnish appropriately.
· Assist in checking deliveries and condition of stock
· Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and ensure they are stored properly
· Assist in maintaining food and labour cost within the budget and minimising waste
· Keep the kitchen, equipment and facilities clean, presentable and safe.
· Comply with food safety and hygiene standards
· Follow workplace safety procedures and promptly report any equipment faults or repairs.
· Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
· Work effectively as part of a team
· Maintain good communication skills with all staff
