About the role
The Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and delivery of detached residential housing projects.
The Foreman ensures trades, subcontractors and suppliers complete works safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. This role reports directly to the Construction Manager while managing detached housing projects.
Where assigned to a townhouse development, the Foreman will operate under the direction of the Site Manager and be responsible for supervision of allocated work areas. This role at Village performs many of the same core site management functions as a Site Manager but at a smaller project scale and with a primary focus on detached residential construction.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise trades, subcontractors and suppliers across detached residential projects
Manage daily construction activities to ensure homes are delivered in accordance with plans and specifications
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site activities to maintain workflow and programme milestones
Coordinate material orders, deliveries and resources
Inspect works and ensure compliance with company quality standards
Manage inspections, defects and practical completion activities
Support environmental controls and site management measures
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
Maintain communication with trades, suppliers and stakeholders
Identify and escalate programme, quality and safety risks
About you
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Foreman, Site Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar supervisory role
Experience managing detached residential housing construction projects
Demonstrated ability to coordinate trades, subcontractors and suppliers
Ability to work independently or under the direction of a Site Manager on larger developments
Strong understanding of residential construction methodologies, NCC requirements and quality standards
Strong leadership, communication and trade coordination skills
Sound understanding of WHS legislation and site safety requirements
Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project and construction management software
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Building Licence preferred
