Experienced Optometrist – Glen Waverley (Mandarin Speaking)

About the role

An experienced Optometrist role at a premium independent optometry practice with advanced clinical technology, strong myopia management support, dedicated admin time, career progression and a supportive clinical team. Your primary workplace will be the Glen Waverley Shopping Centre store, with occasional work at the Westfield Knox store depending on business and rostering requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations independently
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of ocular conditions
• Provide full-scope myopia management
• Manage contact lens and specialty contact lens patients
• Provide high-quality patient education and clinical advice
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the entire patient journey
• Build strong, long-term relationships with patients and families
• Communicate clinical recommendations clearly and professionally
• Work closely with the optical dispensing team to deliver a seamless patient experience
• Maintain high clinical and professional standards

About you

• Minimum 1 year of post-registration optometry experience
• Ability to conduct daily consultations independently
• Mandarin speaking is essential to support the predominantly Mandarin-speaking customer base
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating a positive patient experience
• Strong clinical skills and professional judgement
• A genuine interest in myopia management and children's vision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain clinical findings and treatment options clearly to patients and families
• A patient-focused approach and commitment to clinical excellence
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
