About the role

Auststar Freight Distribution is seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team in Ulverstone, TAS 7315. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our logistics operations, ensuring that parcels and documents are delivered efficiently and safely to our customers. As a Courier Driver, you will be the face of our company, representing our commitment to excellent customer service and timely delivery. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation as a trusted freight distribution provider in the region.

What you'll be doing

• Collecting and delivering parcels, documents and freight to customers within assigned routes

• Operating your vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies

• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and delivery confirmations

• Providing professional customer service, handling enquiries and resolving delivery issues promptly

• Inspecting your vehicle daily for mechanical issues and reporting any maintenance requirements

• Loading and unloading freight safely, using proper lifting techniques and equipment where necessary

• Planning efficient delivery routes to maximise productivity

• Communicating with management regarding delivery progress and any obstacles encountered

• Ensuring all packages are handled with care to prevent damage during transit

What we're looking for

• A valid Australian driver's licence

• National Police Check

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions whilst on the road

• Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels regularly

• Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to meeting delivery schedules

• Basic IT skills for recording deliveries and updating tracking systems

• A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction
