About the role

SEND IT FABRICATION PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. 3rd/4th year apprentice are urged to apply.

This is a Full-Time position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to our dynamic fabrication operations. As a Boilermaker, you will play a crucial role in the design, fabrication, and assembly of structural metal components. This position is essential to maintaining the quality and timeliness of our projects, and you will work as part of a skilled trades team delivering excellence in metal fabrication.

Key responsibilities

1. Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to engineering specifications and drawings

2. Perform welding operations using various techniques to join metal components with precision and integrity

3. Conduct quality inspections and testing of fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications

4. Operate and maintain boilermaking equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently

5. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions accurately

6. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule

7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols

8. Assist with material preparation, cutting, shaping, and fitting of metal components

What we're looking for

1. A recognised boilermaking qualification or apprenticeship

2. Proven experience working as a boilermaker in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments

3. Proficiency in welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and stick welding

4. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

5. Knowledge of pressure vessel codes and Australian Boiler Standards

6. Experience with metal fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, angle grinders, and hydraulic presses

7. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

9. Current or willingness to obtain relevant safety certifications (such as Working at Heights or confined space entry where applicable)

10. Physical fitness to perform manual labour and lift heavy materials
