 Amora Hotel Adelaide is a five-star hotel in the heart of the city on Victoria Square, offering 380 contemporary rooms and suites. Conveniently located near Adelaide Central Market, Chinatown and key business precincts, the hotel features extensive conference and event facilities, dining venues, a fitness center, outdoor heated pool, complimentary Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service.

The Role:

Join our leadership team as Director of Finance, where you'll drive financial performance, provide strategic direction, and play a key role in shaping the continued success and growth of our hotel.

Reporting to the General Manager, with a functional reporting line to the Vice President of Finance, you will lead the hotel's finance function, ensuring financial excellence, compliance, and strong commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.

• Provide strategic financial advice and commercial insights to the General Manager, Vice President of Finance, and Hotel Leadership Team.

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring timely completion of month-end and year-end processes.

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring performance and driving financial accountability across departments.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, taxation, audit, and corporate reporting requirements.

• Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard hotel assets and minimize risk.

• Drive profitability through revenue analysis, cost management, and business performance initiatives.

• Oversee cash flow, working capital, procurement controls, and capital expenditure planning.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance and service-oriented culture.

• Partner with Department Heads to achieve financial objectives and support operational excellence.

• Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.

• Promote compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and Amora policies and procedures.

• Undertake special projects and other duties as directed by the General Manager and Vice President of Finance.

Essential Attributes

• Australian passport holder or holder of legitimate working visa 

• 2- 5 years' experience in a similar role.

• Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience.

• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Advanced computer literacy, including Excel and financial systems.

• Experience with Opera, SUN Systems, Micropay Meridian, Deputy T&A, or similar platforms.

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and personal presentation.

Desirable

• CPA or CA qualification.

• Previous hospitality or hotel finance experience.

• Strong understanding of hotel operations and commercial performance.

• Experience with audits, internal controls, and compliance.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
