About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital, Data, Reporting & Payroll, the Labour Analytics & Reporting Lead will play a key role in strengthening how Melbourne Water understands, manages and invests in its workforce.

This role will lead the development of a more consistent and transparent approach to labour management across the organisation, bringing together workforce, financial and business data to support better planning, stronger governance and more informed decision-making.

You will work closely with stakeholders across People Services, Finance and the broader business to build trusted reporting, analytics and insights that help leaders understand labour demand, cost, utilisation and productivity.

This opportunity is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension subject to the ongoing delivery and progression of key programs of work.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the delivery of labour analytics and reporting initiatives that improve visibility of workforce demand, labour cost and productivity outcomes.
• Develop practical frameworks, reporting products and governance approaches that support consistent labour management across the business.
• Bring together financial and workforce data to create meaningful insights
• Design and maintain dashboards, scorecards and reporting tools that provide a clear enterprise view of labour trends and performance.
• Partner with People Services, Finance and business leaders to support evidence-based workforce investment decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve labour management processes, reporting quality and system capability.
• Build understanding and capability across the organisation by helping leaders interpret labour data and apply labour management principles.
• Influence senior stakeholders through clear analysis, practical recommendations and strong facilitation of workforce and investment discussions.

About You

You are a confident analytics, reporting or finance professional who enjoys working with complex data and turning it into clear, practical insights.

You will bring:

• Experience leading analytics, reporting, business improvement or workforce-related initiatives.
• Strong understanding of workforce analytics, financial analysis, management accounting or business intelligence.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate and analyse complex workforce and financial datasets.
• Experience in labour budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling or related planning activities.
• Experience developing dashboards, metrics, scorecards or reporting frameworks, ideally using Power BI.
• Experience with TechOne and Chris21 would be highly regarded
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Human Resources disciplines will be highly regarded
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• High attention to detail, sound judgement and a practical approach to solving problems.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a changing environment.
