Diesel Motor Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team with this permanent full-time role and enjoy our unique 9-day fortnight roster.

About You
AQF Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent overseas qualification including at least one year of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or equivalent overseas qualification.
Have a positive skill assessment from the relevant authority.
Have above-average diesel mechanical knowledge.
Attention to detail will be a part of your DNA.
Well organised and can work without making a huge mess.
Fault finding and diagnosing problems are second nature to you.
You’ve got a strong knowledge of AC electrics (desirable).
You’re a people person and are generally happy & enthusiastic each day.
The way you treat our customers’ vehicles will be like it’s your own.
You are a team player and be willing to share the load in busy times.
You won’t mind the routine nature of the job, and the rapid changes that can occur in a business like ours.
You are able to work across multiple projects or helping the team complete a job in quick time.
You perform calmly and remain level-headed under pressure.
Competent at following procedures and getting things done right the first time.
Valid SA drivers’ licence (desirable).
Truck licence (desirable)
About the role
Detect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy diesel equipment including rigid trucks, prime movers, buses, and other machinery.
Key responsibilities
Dismantling and reassembling diesel engines, transmissions, drivelines, steering, suspension and brake components
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts post repair for optimum performance and referring to service manuals as required
Inspecting and detecting any worn and/or defective components for vehicles roadworthiness and details work required
Testing, diagnosing and rectifying issues with the assistance of computers
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicle compliance requirements
Benefits
AUD 95,000 to 105,000 per annum plus Superannuation.
Pay rate subject to qualification and experience.
Work-life balance is prioritised.
OT available but not mandatory.
No weekend work.
