About the role
Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. Our practice is managed by doctors for doctors and our success is driven by the innate understanding that Medical Leadership facilitates the highest standards of professional and operational excellence for the doctors and patients that we serve.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Cytologist to join the Cytology Department at our Gateshead Laboratory. Hours are negotiable.
About the role
Primarily involves screening and reporting non-gynaecological samples, including fine needle aspiration biopsy specimens
Attendance at FNA procedures for ROSE
General laboratory duties, including slide filing
Involves collaboration with pathologists and other healthcare workers
Ideal candidate
We are looking for the following:
Appropriate recognised Science degree with Australian Society of Cytology certification
Excellent organisation skills
Strong communication and analytical skills
Able to work independently as well as within a team
An understanding of quality assurance procedures
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Patient, reliable and flexible
Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail.
