Cytologist

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Cytologist to join the Cytology Department at our Gateshead Laboratory. Hours are negotiable.

About the role

• Primarily involves screening and reporting non-gynaecological samples, including fine needle aspiration biopsy specimens

• Attendance at FNA procedures for ROSE

• General laboratory duties, including slide filing

• Involves collaboration with pathologists and other healthcare workers

Ideal candidate

We are looking for the following:

• Appropriate recognised Science degree with Australian Society of Cytology certification

• Excellent organisation skills

• Strong communication and analytical skills

• Able to work independently as well as within a team

• An understanding of quality assurance procedures

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

• Patient, reliable and flexible

• Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail.
