Senior Workers Compensation and Injury Management Specialist

The role:

Join Adbri's growing Group Health & Safety team and play a key role in the continued evolution of our injury management function. Supporting our South Australian and Western Australian operations, you'll combine hands-on workers' compensation and injury management with strategic business partnering to improve return-to-work outcomes, reduce claim costs and build capability across the business.

More than a case management role, you'll coach leaders, build strong stakeholder relationships, identify opportunities to improve processes and help drive best practice injury management as the function continues to evolve.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end workers' compensation and injury management claims across South Australia and Western Australia.
• Coordinate early intervention, rehabilitation and sustainable return-to-work plans.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide coaching, guidance and practical injury management advice.
• Liaise with insurers, third-party administrators, rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with workers' compensation legislation and internal governance requirements.
• Review claims performance, identify trends and provide recommendations to improve injury management outcomes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help establish consistent injury management practices across the business.
• Build strong relationships through regular site engagement and stakeholder collaboration.

About you

Success in this role requires an experienced workers' compensation professional who thrives on building relationships, influencing leaders and improving outcomes. You'll bring:

• A minimum of seven years' experience managing end-to-end workers' compensation and injury management programs.
• Sound knowledge of workers' compensation legislation and injury management practices, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience working within self-insured, scheme-based or mixed workers' compensation environments.
• Experience managing complex claims and partnering with insurers, rehabilitation providers and legal stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence leaders and build credibility across all levels of the business.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to interpret claims data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Qualifications in injury management, occupational health, rehabilitation, health sciences, law or a related discipline, along with Return to Work accreditation, will be highly regarded.
