We're looking for a warm, and technically skilled teacher for adult ballet classes in Mornington and Frankston. You'll create classes where adults feel welcomed, challenged, encouraged and cared for, understanding that teaching adults is about more than simply delivering exercises.

Rate

Teaching rate $50 per hour

Admin rate $30 per hour (MindBody App digital processes, opening and closing studio)

Key responsibilities:

• 2 -3 shifts per week Contractor status with ABN.

• Teach adult ballet class (Saturday mornings) and neoclassical class (Monday nights) and possibly jazz ballet class at a different time only if that's your area too. Ability to teach floor barre or PBT is a bonus.

• 90 minutes teaching per class plus 15 minutes admin on each side (2 hours total).

• Clearly explain alignment, placement, technique and musicality

• Adapt exercises and corrections to different bodies, abilities and experience levels

• Provide thoughtful corrections that maintain technical standards while respecting individual students

• Teach beginners through to more experienced adult dancers

• Create a welcoming, encouraging and supportive learning environment

• Performance preparation for concerts and solos. Ability to choreograph is a bonus.

About you

• Strong classical ballet technique and technical precision

• Must have experience teaching adults. This is vastly different to teaching children. We believe in high standards with a kind approach. You can give precise corrections while making someone feel good about themselves. You can take ballet seriously without taking the joy out of it. Our ideal teacher understands that adults arrive in the studio with different bodies, histories, confidence levels and goals. They know how to maintain strong ballet technique while respecting the individual person standing at the barre.
