About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Kitchen Hand to join our team on a casual basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting meal preparation, and ensuring that residents receive high-quality dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

In this diverse role, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.

• Washing, organizing, and storing crockery, cutlery, and trays.

• Assisting with food preparation, including breakfast menu setup.

• Labelling and rotating stock to ensure compliance with Food Safety standards.

• Collaborating with the kitchen supervisor, cook, and staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Adhering to infection control and Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols.

• Contributing to person-centered care and creating a positive dining experience for residents.

What We're Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience in a food preparation area, ideally in a facility, hospital, or commercial kitchen.

• A Food Handling Certificate.

• A cooperative personality with flexibility and a team-focused approach.

• Strong communication skills in English for effective interactions with staff, residents, and visitors.

• Patience, empathy, and understanding of the unique needs of aged individuals.

• Familiarity with policy manuals, WHS, and infection control standards.

• Current police check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Experience in a coffee shop or as a barista (desirable).
