The company is recognized for delivering quality outcomes with a strong emphasis on honesty, compassion, and practical, client-centered solutions.Role Description The Design Drafter role at Mills Group WA is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Perth Area. The Design Drafter will prepare detailed technical, engineering, and architectural drawings for residential construction, modifications and accessible housing projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting project briefs, conducting site measurements, producing CAD models and drawings, and updating plans based on feedback from designers, engineers, and project managers. The role involves coordinating with the construction and installation teams to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and compliant with relevant building codes and accessibility standards. The Design Drafter will also maintain organized drawing records, support documentation for approvals, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.Qualifications Strong technical drawing skills, including proficiency in Drawing and Technical Drawing for construction and remodeling projects.Ability to create and interpret Engineering Drawings aligned with structural and compliance requirements.Experience producing precise Architectural Drawings for residential and accessibility-focused designs.Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and related digital drafting tools.Relevant qualification in drafting, architectural technology, engineering, or a related field.Knowledge of Australian building codes, accessibility standards, and NDIS or aged care housing requirements is highly beneficial.Attention to detail, strong spatial and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on-site in the Greater Perth Area.
