As a Trades Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role within our Production Centre located in Wacol, providing support to technicians, maintaining workshop operations, and assisting with mechanical tasks in a safety-focused environment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Defence Project Manager, you will provide essential support to the workshop team and assist with a variety of workshop activities. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting technicians with workshop activities and mechanical tasks
• Completing work instructions as directed
• Collecting parts from the warehouse and suppliers
• Maintaining workshop stock levels including oils, rags and consumables
• Cleaning and maintaining workshop common areas
• Emptying waste bins and ensuring a tidy work environment
• Supporting special projects as required
• Contributing to safe and efficient workshop operations.

About You

• A strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in workshop environments
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Current Driver's Licence
• Experience working in a workshop, manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous but not essential
