Security Network & ICT Infrastructure Specialist

SEME Solutions is seeking an experienced and technically capable Security Network & ICT Infrastructure Specialist to join our growing Service Department. This new role combines advanced ICT infrastructure expertise with integrated electronic security technologies, supporting enterprise and critical infrastructure clients across Western Australia.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across networking, servers, virtualisation, storage, databases and cloud-connected platforms, while also supporting integrated systems such as CCTV, access control, intercoms and security management platforms.

About the Role

 As a senior technical specialist, you will provide design, support, troubleshooting and lifecycle management across a diverse range of enterprise technology environments. You will work closely with service technicians, project teams and customers to deliver reliable, secure and high-performing infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

•  Supporting enterprise network, server and security infrastructure environments

• Diagnosing and resolving complex ICT and integrated technology issues

• Configuring and maintaining switches, routers, firewalls and wireless networks

• Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory and virtualised environments

• Managing storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions

• Assisting with SQL-based applications and enterprise software platforms

• Supporting integrated security systems and operational technology environments

• Providing technical guidance, documentation and escalation support to field teams

Networking & Infrastructure Expertise

 You will need to have strong experience in:

•  Enterprise LAN, WAN and wireless network environments

• Routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs and network segmentation

• Managed switches, routers, firewalls and wireless infrastructure

• Network monitoring, performance optimisation and fault diagnosis

• Fibre backbone infrastructure and structured cabling systems

• Technologies from vendors such as Dell, Allied Telesis, Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, Juniper or similar

Server, Virtualisation & Cloud Technologies

 Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

•  Microsoft Windows Server environments

• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy

• VMware vSphere / ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V

• Microsoft 365, Entra ID and hybrid cloud environments

• Remote access, user identity and access management

• Infrastructure monitoring, patching and lifecycle management

Databases, Storage & Enterprise Applications

 You will be comfortable supporting:

•  Microsoft SQL Server environments

• Database backup, restore and maintenance activities

• NAS and enterprise storage platforms

• Backup, replication and disaster recovery solutions

• Business-critical applications and integrated software platforms

• Service management, asset management and security management applications

Integrated Security & Operational Technology

 While this is a technology-focused role, experience supporting or integrating electronic security systems will be highly regarded, including:

•  CCTV and Video Management Systems

• Access Control Systems

• Security Management Platforms

• Intercom and Communications Systems

• Duress and Alarm Systems

• Building Management Systems

• Visitor Management Platforms

Desirable Qualifications

•  Cisco CCNA, CCNP or equivalent networking certification

• Microsoft Server or Azure certifications

• VMware certification or equivalent experience

• Fortinet, Aruba, HPE or similar vendor certifications

• ITIL Foundation

• ACMA Open Cabling Registration

• Fibre optic accreditation

• WA Security Installer Licence or willingness to obtain
