Mobility Plus is a leading Australian manufacturer of Custom-Built, Manual Wheelchairs. For 40 years now, our family owned business has been manufacturing wheelchairs right here in Melbourne. We are also a national provider of Assistive Technology with divisions in power assist & recreational devices, paediatric equipment, vehicle solutions and manual handling equipment.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available to join our hardworking, friendly team within our Fairfield based manufacturing facility. This is a casual position with scope to become permanent/full time. Our factory operates from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. All tools and necessary training is provided. Career advancement opportunities within our various divisions and multitude of trades used are also available to the right candidate. Such opportunities may include apprenticeships or short TAFE courses.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly of custom manual wheelchairs for both individual end users and corporate clients - includes day wheelchairs and sports wheelchairs
Fabrication & assembly of parts including armrests, footplates, wheels and other bespoke items
Assisting with on-site servicing and modifications to existing manual wheelchairs
Completing quality assurance checks of works completed
Installation of various power assist devices
Maintaining a neat and tidy work area
Skills & Attributes Required:
Ability to use hand & power tools
Previous assembly experience or electronics background highly regarded
Experience with aluminium or steel fabrication highly regarded
General labouring experience highly regarded
Ability to interpret and work from manuals, drawings and verbal instructions
A safe work ethic & willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work as part of a team & autonomously
Excellent time management skills
A focus on high quality workmanship and total customer satisfaction
Ability to problem solve & think laterally
Must be willing to undertake NDIS worker screening check & Working with Children Check
