THE OPPORTUNITY

This customer-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, building relationships and working toward sales goals. You will support prospective members through the joining process while helping our existing members feel welcomed, valued and motivated. Your key responsibilities are:

• Welcome members and visitors with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Respond promptly to phone, email, website and social media enquiries.
• Conduct club tours and explain our memberships, facilities and services.
• Follow up prospective members and convert enquiries into memberships.
• Assist new members with sign-ups, inductions and getting started in the club.
• Build strong relationships with members to improve engagement and retention.
• Contact members who may need additional support or encouragement.
• Promote personal training, body scans, challenges, events and club initiatives.
• Assist with local area marketing, community outreach and promotional activities.
• Maintain accurate member records and complete general administration.
• Process membership updates and assist with account enquiries.
• Help keep the reception area and gym floor clean, organised and welcoming.
• Follow club procedures relating to safety, security, access and member conduct.
• Contribute to membership, retention and customer-service targets.
• Support the Club Manager and wider team with day-to-day club operations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will:

• Be friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with new people.
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Be motivated by goals and able to follow a structured sales process.
• Provide excellent customer service and genuinely enjoy helping others.
• Be reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Have good computer, telephone and administrative skills.
• Bring positive energy and contribute to a supportive team environment.
• Be willing to learn and take initiative.
• Have an interest in health, fitness and the local community.
• Be available to work during agreed staffed hours, including occasional evenings or weekends when required.

Previous experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, retail or the fitness industry is highly regarded but not essential. Training will be provided to the right person.
