Capital Ophthalmology is a busy and growing specialist eye practice in the inner south of Canberra. We pride ourselves in providing personalized eye care within the setting of a modern, fully equipped and purposely built new premise.
About the Role
We are looking for staff to join our friendly and experienced team:
Clinical Optometrist - looking for both soon-to-graduate as well as experienced clinicians.
Orthoptist
Ophthalmic technician
Patient care in the context of a cohesive and supportive clinical and administrative team is our top priority. A positive approach to teamwork and change is essential.
The right applicants will be working alongside other experienced team members and extensive training will be provided.
Hours
The current role is casual although part-time may be considered. Shifts will depend on the doctor's roster which generally follow a four weekly rotating pattern. Busy clinic days will therefore require a commitment of an 8-9 hour shift with shorter shifts available on other days of the week.
A minimum of at least 3-day commitment is required. Full-time work may be available.
Required Skills and Attributes
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks that change in urgency within a busy clinical environment.
Vigilant attitude to accuracy.
Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision.
Genuine empathy and interest in patient needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly for adults and older adults.
Well-presented, friendly, courteous and obliging manner. Additionally, the ability to represent the practice in a confident and positive manner.
Undertake tasks with honesty, integrity and maintain confidentiality regarding patient and practice information,
Work cooperatively within a team as well as independently, being able to report back to the Principal Clinician and Practice Manager.
Essential Skills
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Office 365
Knowledge of medical terminology
Minimum one year's experience in a medical receptionist / secretarial role / clinical environment
