Experienced Plant Operator - Skid Steer/ Excavator

About the role

Arbor Guy is looking for an experienced plant operator to join our mechanical vegetation clearing team. You'll operate specialised equipment across fire mitigation, vegetation clearing, and utility vegetation projects throughout the South West and Great Southern. This isn't a standard earthmoving position.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical vegetation and tree clearing

• Fire mitigation works

• Forestry mulching

• Grapple saw operations

• Excavator and skid steer operations

• Daily machine inspections and basic maintenance

• Working closely with our arborist and vegetation crews

The Equipment

• Cat 299D Skid Steers

• Hitachi ZX170 Wheeled Excavator

• Forestry Mulchers

• Grapple Saw and specialised vegetation clearing attachments

• Dedicated service/support vehicle

About you

• Strong excavator and skid steer experience

• Excavator and skid steer competency/tickets

• MR or HR licence

• White Card

• First Aid

• Good mechanical knowledge

• Strong safety awareness

• Ability to work independently

• High standard of workmanship

Experience with forestry mulchers, tree clearing or grapple saws is highly regarded, but we will train the right experienced operator. Must live with-in 30 Minutes of our Vasse Depot.
