About the role
Kidstuff was established in 1969 expanding to over 60 stores with more on the way. After overwhelming demand from Perth families Kidstuff will be finally arriving at Karrinyup Shopping Centre very soon!
We're now putting together the team that opens the doors. You'll unpack the first delivery, set the floor up, and meet the first valued customers who come through. Be part of it from the start.
We have several casual roles available.
This is the job where you get to be the person who finds the right toy. A grandparent who has no idea what a five year old is into. A parent hunting for something to keep the kids busy on a long flight. A family looking for that perfect birthday party present. You're the one who sorts them out, and it's more fun than it sounds.
You don't need to know our range on day one. We'll teach you and have fun bringing out the kid in you all over again!
We're a specialty toy retailer with over 60 stores and our webstore. Our stores are where a grandparent finds the right birthday present and kids find their new favourite thing. It's a rewarding way to spend your working day.
Serving customers and helping them find the right thing. Asking the right questions, showing how things work, and making a recommendation you'd stand behind.
Getting to know the range. What's good for what age, what's popular right now, and what to suggest when the obvious choice is out of stock.
Working the registers. Sales, refunds and exchanges, done properly.
Gift wrapping. A lot of what we sell is a present, and we wrap it like one.
Keeping the store looking good. Shelves full and ticketed, displays tidy, and the floor safe for kids.
Getting deliveries out. Unpacking stock, checking it in, and getting it onto the shelf where it can sell.
Pitching in with whatever the shift needs, alongside your Store Team Leader.
You like people, and you don't mind being busy. You'd rather find something useful to do than stand around waiting to be asked. And you get something out of sending a customer off happy, especially when they came in with no idea what they wanted.
You turn up when you said you would, and you tell us early if something's come up.
What we're looking for:
Warm and friendly, and you enjoy dealing with kids and their grown-ups
Happy on your feet and comfortable in a busy store
Reliable, honest and careful with cash and procedures
Willing to learn a big range of products
Available across a retail roster including weekends, late night trade and school holidays
Handy, but not essential:
Retail or customer service experience
Keyholder experience - opening and closing a retail store
Point of sale experience. Ours is simple and we'll train you
An interest in toys, games and what kids are into at the moment
The chance to open a new store, which is good experience and a good story
Staff discount on a great range of toys
Proper training, and a genuine path into a Store Team Leader role if you want one
Flexible shifts that can work around study or family
