Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join an established technical team.

This role would suit someone who wants deep, hands-on architecture problems without the overhead of long-range strategy or roadmap ownership. This is a hands-on solutioning role, responsible for translating strategic direction into practical, scalable solution architecture. You'll act as the technical conscience in the room, providing guidance and challenge as engineering teams design and build solutions to ensure they are robust, scalable and fit for purpose.

This sits in a space that's ripe for AI: high volumes of data, largely manual or rules-based processes that could be made smarter, and a growing appetite to explore where large language models, retrieval-augmented generation and AI agents could lift efficiency, personalisation and decision-making.

Responsibilities will include:

• Partnering with cross-functional teams to translate business and product problems into practical, end-to-end solution designs
• Providing architectural input and governance across a range of digital capability areas, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and resilient at real consumer scale
• Challenging and supporting engineering teams
• Producing clear architecture documentation and decision records to support delivery teams
• Supporting proof-of-concept work and help evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, as opportunities arise
• Working within an agile delivery environment, balancing pragmatic near-term solutions with sound architectural principles

• Proven Solution Architect experience across multiple technical domains
• Strong engineering background - hand-on coding isn't required, but you need to be able to relate to the problems the engineers are solving
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A genuine interest in AI - production experience is not essential, but an advantage
