The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Body Builder and Spray Painter to join our skilled team in Beresfield. This is an excellent opportunity to continue developing your trade skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals on a variety of heavy vehicle repairs and rebuilds.

This role is ideal for someone who has already developed foundational skills and is looking to further refine their trade under the guidance of experienced professionals, working on a variety of heavy vehicles.

Role responsibilities

As a 3rd/4th Apprentice Boday Builder at National Truck Repairs, you will:

• Perform inspections and complete damage reports as per company procedures
• Carry out mechanic diagnosis, repair and replacements as required
• Perform repairs and refurbishing of recycled parts to required quality standards
• Ensure no vehicle or component is ever refitted or supplied if not safe to do so
• Upon request carry out minor/small repairs as per Job Sheet
• Ensure authorised before proceeding with additional work.
• Double check new parts are correct and not damaged.  

As a 3rd/4th Year Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Spray Painter, you will:

• Cleaning, sanding, and masking vehicle surfaces in preparation for painting
• Mixing and matching paint colours to achieve accurate colour matching
• Using spray guns and specialised equipment to apply paint evenly and professionally
• Applying primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats
• Blending new paint into existing finishes for seamless repairs
• Carrying out touch-ups and correcting surface imperfections
• Creating specialised finishes, textures, and effects where required
• Monitoring drying and curing processes to ensure quality results
• Inspecting completed work for defects or inconsistencies
• Following all workplace safety procedures and using PPE at all times

You will be required to:

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times
• Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition
• Complete all course theory work by the due date as required
