Warehouse Supervisor

Hands-On Supervisor | Small Team | Established Family Business

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of our Stapylton warehouse.

This is a hands-on role. You will work alongside 2-3 other warehouse team members, picking, packing, receiving and preparing orders while also coordinating the daily workflow and maintaining a safe, organised and efficient warehouse.

The role works closely with our logistics and administration team, who manage transport scheduling and stock transfers.

This opportunity is becoming available due to a retirement.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse floor, including:

• Coordinate and contribute to daily picking, packing, loading and dispatch

• Supervise and support the warehouse team

• Receive, check, record and put away incoming goods

• Ensure stock is stored correctly and warehouse locations are maintained

• Maintain high standards of picking and dispatch accuracy

• Prioritise warehouse activities to meet customer and delivery requirements

• Ensure pallets and loads are prepared safely and correctly

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse

• Coordinate warehouse plant and equipment requirements

• Manage rubbish removal and prepare recycling for collection

• Assist with stock movements, counts and inventory control

• Identify and address warehouse issues as they arise

• Communicate clearly with the Logistics Coordinator, customer service team and management

• Promote safe work practices and ensure procedures are followed

• Remain actively involved in warehouse duties alongside the team

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable leading from the floor.

You will ideally have:

• Previous warehouse supervisory, leading hand or senior storeperson experience

• Strong hands-on warehouse experience

• A current forklift licence (and HR licence desired but not essential)

• Good knowledge of receiving, picking, packing and dispatch processes

• Strong attention to detail and stock accuracy

• The ability to organise people and priorities in a busy environment

• A practical approach to problem solving

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Basic computer and warehouse systems capability

• A strong commitment to workplace safety

• A willingness to take responsibility and get involved wherever required

Experience in a distribution, wholesale or similar warehouse environment would be well regarded.

This role would suit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, Leading Hand or Senior Storeperson who enjoys being actively involved in the operation rather than managing from an office.

You will have clear responsibility for the warehouse floor while working collaboratively with the Transport, Logistics & Stock Transfers Coordinators to keep stock and customer orders moving efficiently through the business.
