Workshop Manager

Lead Our Team in Tropical North Queensland

FNQ Auto Air is a well-established and growing business specialising in automotive electrical, air-conditioning and transport refrigeration services across North Queensland.

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our Cairns operation. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a strong technical background in either Auto Electrical or Transport Refrigeration who can effectively manage people, workflow and customer relationships.

About the Role

As Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop

• Leading, mentoring and supporting technicians and apprentices

• Planning and scheduling workshop jobs to maximise productivity

• Ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction

• Providing technical support and guidance to the team

• Managing parts procurement and supplier relationships

• Monitoring workshop performance, efficiency and profitability

• Maintaining a safe and compliant workplace

• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

✔ Trade qualifications and experience in either:

• Auto Electrical, or

• Transport Refrigeration

✔ Previous experience leading a team or supervising technicians

✔ Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

✔ Excellent communication and customer service abilities

✔ A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

✔ Sound computer and administration skills

✔ Current driver's licence
