Office & Warehouse Operations Assistant – Windows & Doors

GCB Doors & Windows is a locally owned family business supplying custom windows, doors and screens throughout South East Queensland. We’re looking for a practical, organised person who enjoys variety and would like to become a dependable part of a friendly, growing team.

This is a hybrid office and warehouse role. You will primarily help keep customer orders, deliveries and daily workflows moving from the office, while also assisting in the warehouse with flyscreen assembly, timber reveals, labelling and order preparation when required.

It would suit someone who communicates confidently, is comfortable using computer systems and is also practical and willing to work with their hands. We are open to either an experienced operations assistant or a capable junior who is reliable, switched on and keen to learn.

The role

Office and customer support duties will include:

• Following daily order and customer-service workflows
• Contacting customers to arrange deliveries and collections
• Providing customers with straightforward order updates
• Recording notes, photographs and order information accurately
• Updating order, stock and delivery statuses in our systems
• Checking that customer items have been correctly allocated
• Helping prepare delivery schedules and paperwork
• Following up outstanding information with customers and team members
• Supporting general office administration when required

Warehouse and assembly duties will include:

• Assembling aluminium flyscreens
• Installing timber reveals neatly and professionally
• Accurately measuring and checking products
• Applying customer, job and barcode labels
• Recording stock locations and allocating items to customer orders
• Checking products for visible damage or discrepancies
• Preparing customer orders for collection or delivery
• Helping our driver locate, check and load the correct items
• Keeping the warehouse organised and safe
• Occasionally assisting with deliveries when required

Our warehouse handles custom and high-value window and door packages, so accuracy, care and accountability are extremely important.

About you

You will be well suited to this role if you:

• Are organised, dependable and able to follow daily workflows
• Communicate professionally and confidently with customers
• Are comfortable using email, computers, phones and digital systems
• Are good with your hands and willing to complete practical tasks
• Can accurately use a tape measure
• Are comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Take pride in producing neat, careful work
• Pay attention to customer names, job numbers, measurements and labels
• Follow tasks through without needing repeated reminders
• Ask questions when unsure rather than guessing
• Are physically capable of safely assisting with windows, doors and screens
• Can move comfortably between office and warehouse responsibilities
• Work well independently once trained

Experience with Zoho, customer service, administration, warehousing, flyscreens, carpentry, glazing or building products would be highly regarded, but training can be provided to the right person.

A current manual driver licence and safe driving record are preferred, as occasional backup delivery assistance may be required. Driving is not the primary focus of the role.

Hours and employment

• Flexible across two to four weekdays
• Some Saturday availability preferred
• Opportunity for additional hours and responsibility as the role develops
• Applicable casual award rate based on classification, age and experience
