About the role
QA Engineer (Must have Australian Citizenship to get baseline security clearance)
My Occ Health Record (MOHR)South Melbourne | Hybrid – three office days$130,000 + superannuation
About My Occ Health RecordMy Occ Health Record (MOHR) is an Australian-owned health-tech company transforming how high-risk industries manage the health and safety of their workforces.
Its cloud-based occupational health platform connects health data across the entire employee lifecycle—from pre-employment assessments and health surveillance through to injury management, occupational hygiene and employee wellbeing.
The platform currently supports more than 440,000 employee health records, 3.9 million live data points and over 1,000 clinical users.
Purpose-built with occupational-health specialists, MOHR helps employers centralise sensitive health information, automate compliance processes and use real-time data to make better decisions for their people.
The opportunityMOHR is looking for an automation-focused QA Engineer to join its growing Engineering team.Initially, you’ll take ownership of testing across a complex federal government integration project involving six connected systems and a large customer-side testing function.
You’ll work across system integration testing, UAT, APIs, end-to-end workflows and release readiness, ensuring MOHR’s platform works reliably within a much broader technology ecosystem.
However, this role is bigger than one project.
MOHR currently has an offshore QA team and approximately a 50/50 split between manual and automated testing. You’ll become its dedicated onshore QA specialist, helping shift the organisation toward an automation-first quality model.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to shape QA practices, increase automated test coverage and establish greater quality ownership throughout the development lifecycle.
Why this role is impactfulThe platform manages highly sensitive occupational-health information used to help organisations protect their people, meet compliance obligations and identify workplace health risks.
A failed integration or incorrect workflow isn’t simply a frustrating software defect—it can affect the accuracy, accessibility and movement of important workforce-health data.
Your work will directly influence:The quality of a major federal government technology projectThe reliability of integrations across multiple connected systemsMOHR’s ability to release software confidently and efficientlyThe transition from manual testing toward scalable automationHow early quality and testability are considered during product developmentThe long-term development of MOHR’s onshore QA capability
What you’ll be doingDesign, write and execute automated and manual tests across MOHR’s web-based SaaS platformTest APIs, third-party integrations, data flows and end-to-end workflowsOwn testing activities across SIT, UAT, regression and release cyclesBuild and maintain reliable, scalable automated test coverageIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelinesReproduce, document and track defects through to resolutionWork with Product and Engineering during discovery and refinement to identify edge cases before development beginsDefine test plans, quality criteria and release-readiness requirementsCollaborate with MOHR’s offshore QA team and development teamsLiaise with government-side testing stakeholdersHelp introduce stronger QA processes, documentation and release governanceExplore practical ways AI can accelerate test creation, maintenance and coverage
What MOHR is looking forYou’ll be an experienced QA Engineer who is technically strong, automation-first and still comfortable performing thoughtful manual and exploratory testing where required.
You’ll ideally bring:Strong hands-on test automation experienceThe ability to write and maintain high-quality automation codeExperience testing APIs and integration-heavy systemsKnowledge of API testing tools and automation frameworksExperience with functional, regression, exploratory and end-to-end testingUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gatesExperience participating in SIT, UAT or complex enterprise releasesStrong defect investigation and troubleshooting skillsThe confidence to challenge unclear requirements and identify edge cases earlyClear communication with engineers, product teams and non-technical stakeholdersThe ability to work autonomously and take genuine ownership of software quality
Nice to haveExperience working on government or regulated technology projectsTesting experience within health-tech or another sensitive-data environmentPerformance or load-testing experienceUnderstanding of security-testing fundamentalsExperience collaborating with offshore development or QA teamsPractical examples of using AI to improve test automationExperience helping establish or mature an internal QA practiceExisting government security clearance
Why join MOHR?This role offers the chance to:Become MOHR’s dedicated onshore QA specialistBuild and influence a capability rather than simply inherit a finished processWork on a technically complex, integration-heavy government projectIntroduce quality earlier across discovery, refinement and developmentHelp modernise testing through automation and AIWork closely with Product, Engineering, Support and customer stakeholdersMake an immediate contribution within a smaller environment where your work will be visibleApply your technical skills to software designed to improve workplace health and safety
MOHR combines the purpose and complexity of health technology with the autonomy and influence of a growing Australian software company.
Because this role will initially support a federal government project, applicants must be Australian citizens and willing and eligible to undergo the required government security-clearance process.
If you’re an automation-first QA Engineer who wants to take ownership, improve how quality is delivered and help build something meaningful, I’d love to speak with you.Apply directly or message Georgia Hart for a confidential conversation.
