Deception Bay Discount Drug Store is seeking reliable and motivated people to join our supportive pharmacy team.

We currently have two part-time positions available:

1. Pharmacy Assistant – Webster Packing Team

2. Pharmacy Assistant – Front of Store and Medication Delivery

Working alongside our Webster Packing Manager and pharmacists, you will assist with preparing and maintaining medication packs for our patients.

This important behind-the-scenes role requires excellent attention to detail, good organisation and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

• Assisting with in-house sachet medication packing

• Assisting with flat-pack Webster packing

• Deblistering medications in preparation for packing

• Rotating stock and monitoring expiry dates

• Maintaining accurate and organised stock levels

• Keeping the packing area clean, organised and compliant

• Following pharmacy procedures and pharmacist directions

• Supporting the Webster team to meet daily workflow and packing deadlines

This role involves assisting customers in the pharmacy, supporting the front-of-store team and delivering medications to patients in the local community.

A pharmacy vehicle will be provided for deliveries; however, applicants must hold a current Australian driver’s licence and have a safe driving record.

• Providing friendly and professional customer service

• Assisting customers with products and general enquiries

• Operating the point-of-sale system and processing transactions

• Receiving, pricing and replenishing stock

• Maintaining clean, tidy and well-presented shelves and displays

• Rotating stock and checking expiry dates

• Assisting with general front-of-store duties

• Delivering medications and other pharmacy items to patients

• Handling deliveries carefully and maintaining patient confidentiality

• Following pharmacy procedures and pharmacist directions

• Supporting the wider pharmacy team as required

The ideal applicants will:

• Be reliable, friendly and well organised

• Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Work well in a busy, team-based environment

• Be able to follow established procedures and directions

• Understand the importance of patient privacy and confidentiality

• Have strong communication and customer-service skills

• Be willing to assist wherever required

• Have previous pharmacy, Webster packing or retail experience, although training can be provided to the right applicants

For the Front of Store and Medication Delivery position, you must also:

• Hold a current Australian driver’s licence

• Be confident and responsible when driving

• Be comfortable delivering medications to patients within the local area

• A supportive and friendly team environment
