About the role
Looking for a workshop role where you can build something you're proud of?
Global Bus Ventures is growing, and we're looking for a hands-on Workshop Technician to help build and prepare brand-new buses for customers across Australia.
This is a varied role where you'll be involved in mechanical work, electrical installations, vehicle fit-outs, modifications, fault-finding and final vehicle preparation. Every bus that leaves our workshop carries passengers and supports communities across Australia, and you'll play an important role in that process.
You don't need years of bus experience to apply. If you're practical, mechanically minded and enjoy working with your hands, we'd love to hear from you.
Full-time permanent position
Stable employment with a growing company
Work on brand-new buses rather than routine servicing and repairs
Exposure to diesel, electric and emerging vehicle technologies
Varied work with no two days the same
Opportunity to develop skills across mechanical, electrical and vehicle fit-out work
Supportive, hands-on team environment
Career growth opportunities as the business continues to expand
You'll be involved in:
Fitting and installing components and equipment to new buses
Mechanical and electrical installations
Vehicle fit-out and finishing work
Fault finding and troubleshooting
Carrying out modifications and customer-requested options
Resolving issues identified during inspections and testing
Conducting quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
Assisting with final vehicle preparation and delivery
Moving vehicles around the workshop when required
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
Completing basic paperwork and quality checklists
We're more interested in attitude, practical ability and willingness to learn than having the perfect resume.
You may come from an automotive, heavy vehicle, manufacturing, fabrication, agricultural machinery, construction equipment or similar trade background.
You'll ideally have:
Good mechanical aptitude
Strong problem-solving skills
A practical, hands-on approach
Attention to detail
The ability to work independently and within a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Pride in producing quality work
Experience in heavy vehicles, diesel mechanics, fabrication, auto electrical, automotive or bus industries is advantageous, but not essential.
If you're looking for a role that offers variety, stability and the opportunity to work on exciting new vehicle builds, we'd love to hear from you.
Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
Send us your CV and tell us a little about yourself and your experience.
