About the role

The Senior Risk & Compliance Analyst reports to the Manager, Emerging Risk and leads advanced Line Two risk and compliance activities within CSC’s Legal, Risk and Governance function. The incumbent will apply deep risk and compliance expertise to develop, uplift and implement effective risk management, compliance and control frameworks.

With support from the Manager, Emerging Risk, the incumbent will provide practical advice on complex risk and compliance matters and mentors risk analysts to support their professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Line 2 risk and compliance activities for assigned business areas, including risk and control assessments, compliance plan maintenance, policy embedding, obligations management and monitoring of the business risk profile against Risk Appetite Statement metrics and Key Risk Indicators.
• Manage Line 2 risk and compliance incidents, including triage, assessment, thematic analysis, root cause analysis, breach assessment and reporting input, remediation tracking, and escalation of systemic issues or control weaknesses.
• Design, document and test efficient and effective controls that support compliance with regulatory, legislative and policy obligations, including supporting control testing plans and assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment.
• Support risk deep dives, regulatory change responses, outsourcing risk assessments, business continuity requirements and change initiatives, ensuring required risk and compliance activities are identified, completed and embedded.
• Support CSC’s Financial Accountability Regime obligations by assisting with accountability mapping, key function allocation, evidence capture, reporting inputs and ongoing monitoring of accountable persons’ responsibilities, ensuring FAR requirements are embedded into risk and governance practices.
• Analyse and provide risk, compliance, control and incident information for risk forums, Board, Committee and other reporting, with clear insights that support better management of risks, controls, obligations and emerging issues.
• Champion the effective use of the GRC system by maintaining high-quality documentation of risks, controls, obligations, incidents, issues and actions, and supporting business self-service through dashboards and reporting tools.
• Build risk and compliance capability across the business by maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, providing practical subject matter advice, supporting training and awareness activities, and embedding sustainable risk management practices.

Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time-to-time dependent on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.

• Undergraduate degree in commerce, economics, sciences, engineering, accounting, law, or arts is essential
• Postgraduate qualifications in risk, audit, governance, cyber security, data science, or financial services
• Professional certifications (e.g., RMIA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CISA, ISO 27001)
• Demonstrated experience in compliance, incident management, risk management, audit, or technical risk roles
• Experience with APRA regulatory requirements applicable to the financial services industry, specifically within the superannuation sector
• Exposure to operational resilience, superannuation scheme rules
• Advanced report writing and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, including IT and executive leadership
• Strong analytical and technical skills, with demonstrated capability in risk management, compliance and data analysis as core requirements of the role
• Demonstrates keen attention to detail and proactively identifies emerging risks and threats
• Ability to influence, lead, and drive sustainable solutions
