About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Fitter / Apprentice to join our team in Salisbury Plain site. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your mechanical fitting expertise within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

As a Fitter / Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in assembling and maintaining sweeper trucks, equipment and machinery. Whether you are commencing your apprenticeship or progressing as an experienced fitter, this role offers the chance to contribute to our operational success whilst building valuable skills in assembly and process work.

Your actions & responsibilities in the role include:

·         Assembling and installing mechanical components and equipment

·         Performing routine maintenance and preventative servicing on machinery and equipment

·         Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing repair solutions

·         Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality

·         Following workplace safety procedures

·         Collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards

What we're looking for:

·         Mechanical fitting apprenticeship qualification or equivalent trade qualification OR intention to start an apprenticeship for a solid future in trade industry

·         Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment

·         The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

·         Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship

·         Excellent problem-solving abilities and a practical, hands-on approach

·         Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Solid understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and practices

·         Ability to perform manual work in a manufacturing environment

·         Preferred: Previous experience in assembly, process work or manufacturing environments and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment maintenance procedures
