About the role
Sandvik Coromant
Applications Specialist – CNC Metal Cutting Tools (Technical & Sales) – Perth, WA
About the Opportunity
Are you a machining, engineering or technical professional looking to take the next step in your career?
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Technical Sales Representative to join our Sandvik Coromant team in Western Australia.
This is a great opportunity to build your career in technical sales while working with some of the world's leading metal cutting tools, machining solutions and technology.
You don't need to be a senior sales professional to succeed in this role. We are interested in people who have a strong technical foundation, a genuine interest in machining and manufacturing, and the confidence to build relationships with customers.
You'll receive support and training to develop your product knowledge, technical expertise and commercial skills while working alongside an experienced team.
Relocation support to WA available to the right person.
Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with customers across the WA market and understand their machining and production challenges.
Introduce customers to Sandvik Coromant's latest cutting tools, technologies and solutions.
Work with customers to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
Provide practical technical advice and help customers select the right tooling solutions for their applications.
Visit customer sites to understand their operations, troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with our technical specialists and internal teams to develop the best solution for each customer.
Follow up on opportunities and support the growth of your customer portfolio.
Keep up to date with new products, technologies and developments within the machining industry.
Monitor customer needs and market trends and identify opportunities to grow the business.
Provide accurate information and feedback on customer requirements, opportunities and competitor activity.
Contribute to achieving team and individual sales and business targets.
Monitor the competitor landscape and alternative solutions that can jeopardize business
About you:
We're looking for someone who is curious, practical and enjoys working with people and technology.
You could be an experienced technical sales professional, but you could also be someone looking to make the move from a machining, CNC, engineering, production or manufacturing environment into technical sales.
You will ideally have but not limited to:
Experience or knowledge of metal cutting, machining, CNC or manufacturing (desirable).
A technical mindset and the ability to understand how products and processes work.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A customer-focused approach and the confidence to work with people at different levels.
Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
The ability to work independently while also being part of a supportive team.
A current driver's licence and the ability to travel to customer sites across WA.
Most importantly, we're looking for potential. If you have the technical foundation and attitude to succeed, we can help you develop the rest.
To be eligible for this role, you must have the right to live and work in Australia. Please note that as part of our recruitment process, you will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical.
What we offer:
Sales Incentive Bonus to recognise your hard work and dedication to the company's success.
