About the role
WHO WE ARE
Our client is an established fashion business with two well-known brands operating across Australia and internationally.
The business operates a growing multi-channel ecommerce network spanning multiple Shopify DTC websites and leading marketplaces.
With an established customer base, strong retail partnerships and significant opportunity for continued digital growth, ecommerce is a critical commercial channel for the business - and we're looking for someone ready to take ownership of what comes next.
WHO WE NEED
We’re looking for a commercially minded Online Sales Manager ready to take ownership of the business's end-to-end online sales strategy and performance.
This is a hands-on commercial role with genuine accountability for online sales. You’ll own the DTC ecommerce channel across multiple brands and markets, using data, customer behaviour and trading insights to drive revenue, conversion, retention and an exceptional online customer experience.
Beyond DTC, you’ll also take the lead on the ecommerce arm of our marketplace network - building strong relationships with key partners, identifying opportunities to improve digital visibility and actively driving trade performance across these channels.
Working closely with Content, Marketing, Retail and external partners, you’ll have the autonomy to identify opportunities, make commercially informed decisions and turn them into action.
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t simply maintain an ecommerce channel - we want someone who knows how to trade it, grow it and take ownership of its performance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Own the day-to-day trade and commercial performance of our DTC ecommerce channels across Australia and the United States, with accountability for revenue, conversion, AOV and customer experience.
· Develop and execute the ecommerce trading strategy, including product ranging, merchandising, pricing, promotions, inventory positioning and key commercial moments.
· Analyse ecommerce performance, customer behaviour and trading data to identify opportunities, respond to performance and drive continued growth.
· Proactively manage online trade across partner channels, ensuring ranging, product content, pricing, promotional activity and brand presentation are accurate, competitive and commercially optimised.
· Continually optimise our Shopify websites for conversion and customer experience, including merchandising, navigation, search, product discovery, checkout and mobile performance.
· Work closely with the Content Manager and Retail Team to align campaigns, product launches, promotions and seasonal trading activity across channels.
· Oversee the end-to-end online customer experience, including customer service channels, workflows and opportunities to improve retention and loyalty.
· Stay across emerging ecommerce trends, technology, platforms and customer behaviours, identifying opportunities that can meaningfully improve performance.
WHAT YOU’LL HAVE
· 3+ years' experience in an ecommerce, digital trading or commercially focused digital role, ideally within fashion, apparel or a related retail environment.
· Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of ecommerce performance, with a clear understanding of the levers that drive revenue, conversion, AOV and customer retention.
· Hands-on experience with Shopify and a strong understanding of ecommerce merchandising, promotions, inventory, customer journeys and online trading.
· Confidence working with ecommerce data and analytics, with the ability to translate performance insights into clear commercial actions.
· Experience working with department stores, marketplaces or other third-party ecommerce partners is highly regarded.
· A strong understanding of digital acquisition and retention channels, including paid media, SEO/SEM, CRM, email and social.
· Experience managing agencies, external partners and cross-functional stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge performance and drive outcomes.
· Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and major external retail partners.
· The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-moving retail environment.
· Experience working across international markets, particularly Australia and the United States, is advantageous.
· Womenswear experience is highly favourable.
· A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce or a related field is preferred.
Most importantly, you’ll bring an entrepreneurial mindset. You’ll be comfortable being accountable for ecommerce performance, confident making commercially informed decisions and motivated by the opportunity to actively grow the channel rather than simply maintain it.
