About the role
Emergency Service Group (ESG) is a South Australian owned and operated emergency response, medical services and nationally recognised training provider (RTO 46502). We supply Emergency Service Officers, Medical Emergency Service Officers, paramedics, registered nurses and trainers to some of the country's most significant mining, processing and resource operations.
Our casual team is 80+ specialists strong, and it is growing. We are looking for more of the right people to join it.
We are recruiting experienced Emergency Service Officers (ESOs) and Medical Emergency Service Officers (MESOs) for casual placements across our client sites. Rosters and swing lengths vary by site, so this suits people who want genuine flexibility and the ability to pick up work that fits around their commitments.
Flights and accommodation to and from site are covered by ESG.
Providing emergency response capability on site — fire, rescue, hazmat, confined space, vertical rescue and road crash response
Delivering pre-hospital patient care and casualty management within your scope of practice
Responding to site incidents and emergency call-outs, including forward control and scene safety
Inspecting, testing and maintaining response vehicles, appliances, BA and rescue equipment
Conducting site inspections, permit and hot work oversight, and emergency preparedness activities
Supporting site emergency drills, toolbox talks and emergency response training
Accurate incident documentation and reporting
Assisting in the continuous development of ESG training programs
Certificate III from the PUA or RII emergency response training packages, for example:
RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue or
PUA30719 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations)
Or a superseded/equivalent qualification from these packages
Current advanced first aid, CPR and advanced resuscitation
Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
The physical fitness to perform emergency response duties, and the ability to be clean shaven for breathing apparatus use
National Police Clearance and WWCC within 12 months
Unrestricted working rights in Australia
Everything listed above, plus a minimum Certificate IV in Health Care (HLT41120) or higher, such as a Diploma of Emergency Health Care, paramedicine qualification or AHPRA registration.
Prior industrial, mine site or remote medic experience is highly regarded.
Previous experience on mine sites, processing plants or other heavy industry
HR licence, low voltage rescue, gas test atmospheres, confined space, work at heights
Emergency Control Organisation, ICS or crew leadership experience

Successful applicants will need to complete a pre-employment medical, functional assessment and drug and alcohol screening, and hold or obtain a national police clearance. Site-specific inductions and requirements will be advised on placement.
