About the role
Peter May McAuliffe Legal is a dynamic and busy boutique law firm with offices in Busselton and Margaret River. We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time Practice Manager/Administration Officer/Bookkeeper to join our team in our Margaret River office.
This is a varied role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities. The role encompasses office management, administration, human resources, bookkeeping, billing and payroll, as well as ensuring compliance with taxation and reporting obligations. Although the position is based in Margaret River, responsibility extends across both offices.
We are looking for a capable, well-organised and proactive professional with experience in these areas. This is an onsite position.
About the Role
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Performing general administrative duties, including data entry, telephone and email management;
Maintaining effective administrative processes, office systems and records, including software subscriptions and licences;
Managing accounting processes and records, including billing, debtor control, bank reconciliations, trust accounting requirements, BAS, taxation obligations, cash flow management and monthly reporting;
Undertaking HR administration, including onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, payroll processing, superannuation, leave administration and employment-related documentation;
Managing office administration requirements, including insurance compliance, obtaining certificates, and arranging conferences, travel and accommodation as required;
Liaising with employees, clients and external service providers;
Managing files using our legal practice management software and accounting systems, and maintaining both electronic and physical records.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
Previous experience in office administration, human resources and bookkeeping;
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and taxation/reporting obligations;
Strong IT skills and proficiency with business software systems;
The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
The ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and take ownership of tasks;
Experience using MYOB is essential;
Experience using LEAP Legal Software is preferred;
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite;
A positive, team-oriented attitude with a high level of integrity and reliability; and
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
