We are seeking a Quality & Improvements Officer to join our Quality, Risk & Safety team and play a key role in strengthening quality systems, supporting compliance activities and helping drive service improvement across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Quality & Risk Manager, you will work collaboratively across Karakan to support quality management systems, audit and accreditation activities, continuous improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices and organisational learning.

Key Responsibilities
Support quality improvement initiatives and organisational improvement projects.
Assist with the development, review and maintenance of policies, procedures and quality documentation.
Participate in internal audits, document reviews and accreditation preparation activities.
Support compliance monitoring against relevant standards, legislation and contractual requirements.
Assist with incidents, complaints and reportable conduct.
Contribute to safeguarding initiatives and quality assurance activities.
Develop practical resources and guidance materials, including accessible and easy-read resources.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify, implement and monitor improvement opportunities.
Support quality reporting, analysis and organisational learning activities.
About You
You are organised, detail-oriented and passionate about quality service delivery. You enjoy working collaboratively, analysing information and finding practical solutions that improve outcomes for people and services.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in quality, compliance, governance, risk, continuous improvement or a related function within community services, disability, health, mental health, aged care or a similar sector.
Knowledge of quality standards, safeguarding requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to human services.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to develop clear and practical documentation.
Experience building positive working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Sound digital literacy and experience using contemporary business systems.
Desirable
Internal auditing experience or quality systems training.
Experience with NDIS Practice Standards, Human Services Quality Standards, Child Safe Standards or similar frameworks.
Experience in psychosocial disability, mental health, youth services or residential care.
Experience in incident management, complaint management or safeguarding processes.
