About the Role
Tenure: Fixed-Term, Full Time for 4 years with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Energy Policy WA provides policy advice to facilitate the delivery of secure, reliable, sustainable and affordable energy services.
As a Principal Policy Analyst, you will lead the planning, development and implementation of a significant regulatory reform project within Western Australia's energy sector. Working across government and industry, you will help address complex regulatory challenges and contribute to the future evolution of the State's electricity market and network frameworks. You will play a leading role in the development and delivery of energy policy initiatives that support a reliable, efficient and sustainable electricity sector in Western Australia.
In a complex and evolving policy environment, you will lead project delivery from inception through to implementation, including project planning, stakeholder consultation, management of specialist consultants and development of regulatory proposals. You will provide high-quality strategic advice to senior leaders, executives and government decision-makers, while contributing to the development of legislation, regulatory instruments and supporting policy frameworks.
This role requires extensive engagement with government agencies, electricity industry stakeholders, consumer representatives and the broader community to identify emerging issues, develop evidence-based policy responses and build support for key initiatives. You will also represent the department in meetings, forums, committees and working groups, helping to influence outcomes and drive collaboration across the energy sector.
