Junior Sous Chef

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in leading kitchen staff and personally supporting all kitchen areas including food production, purchasing, and sanitation.
• Maintaining food handling and sanitation standards.
• Performing culinary duties during high demand periods.
• Overseeing production and preparation of culinary items.
• Ensuring work areas are clean and sanitary.
• Coordinating with Restaurant and Banquet departments for service and event timing.
• Complying with loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Improving service performance and communicating necessary follow-ups to staff.
• Leading shifts while preparing food items according to specifications.
• Supervising cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
• Checking quality of raw and cooked food products.
• Assisting in food presentation and creating decorative displays.
• Supervising daily shift operations and ensuring employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Managing staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.
• Ensuring completion of assigned duties and participating in employee performance appraisals.
• Handling employee questions and concerns, communicating performance expectations, and conducting training when appropriate.
• Participating in employee recognition programs and monitoring progress toward performance goals.
• Participating in department meetings and communicating departmental goals.
• Supporting new menus, concepts, and promotions for Restaurant outlets and Banquets.
• Setting a positive example for guest relations and handling guest problems and complaints.
• Empowering employees to provide excellent customer service within guidelines.
• Reporting equipment malfunctions and managing food and supply inventories according to budget.
• Attending and participating in all pertinent meetings.
