About the Role

Proactive Projects is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of minor capital projects within a Tier 1 gold mining operation.

This role will focus on the delivery of site infrastructure improvements, working closely with operational stakeholders to develop project scopes, coordinate pricing, manage contractors, and support project execution. While the role has an electrical focus, you will be involved in delivering multidisciplinary projects from concept through to completion.

Initially offered as a 6-month contractor engagement, this position provides an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term career, with transition into a permanent role after the initial 6-months.

Roster: 

FIFO Roster: 8/6 (8 days on 6 days off, typically 12hr days)

Embarkment Locations: 

• Perth
• Brisbane
• Darwin

Project Portfolio

You will be responsible for delivering a range of capital improvement projects valued between $100,000 and $500,000, including:

• Village and accommodation upgrades
• Building refurbishments and facility improvements
• Recreation and amenity upgrades
• Electrical infrastructure improvements
• Small multidisciplinary capital projects supporting site operations

The project portfolio consists of a large pipeline of approved capital works ready for development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Capital Projects Superintendent, you will:

• Engage with stakeholders to understand operational requirements and develop practical project solutions
• Develop project scopes, work packages, cost estimates, and procurement documentation
• Coordinate pricing submissions and contractor quotations
• Manage contractors throughout project delivery
• Oversee project execution to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards
• Perform quality assurance and quality control activities during construction
• Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and reporting requirements
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project activities while maintaining an electrical engineering focus
• Build strong relationships with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor teams

About You

You are an Electrical Project Engineer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and delivering practical infrastructure improvements within an operational mining environment.

You will demonstrate:

• 3–7 years' experience delivering capital projects within mining, resources, or heavy industry
• Electrical engineering background with exposure to multidisciplinary project delivery
• Experience developing scopes of work and managing contractors
• Understanding of project procurement and contractor engagement processes
• Experience supporting construction activities, including QA/QC and commissioning
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
