The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Intermediate Accountant to join our Melbourne team, working across a diverse client base.

Ideally, you will have:

• 2-4 years Australian public practice experience in a professional services firm.
• CA/CPA qualification, completed or half way through.
• Strong technical skills and initiative.
• Ability to take job ownership/accountability.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong IT skills (MYOB AE and other MYOB accounting packages, XERO, Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Active Workpapers).
• Ability to work under pressure in a close team environment.

You will be responsible for:

• Effectively processing client documentation, preparing journals and work papers to produce financial reports in accordance with accounting standards.
• Reviewing ATO correspondence to ensure accuracy of information and communication of any urgent matters for clients attention.
• Liaising with ATO on behalf of clients to attend to clients’ requirements for e.g. lodgement extension, payment arrangements etc.
• Responding to client enquiries in relation to engagement management
• Research on tax and other compliance matters as directed.
• Attending relevant training courses and events.
