Health Professionals and Support Services Award 3-4 ($104,000-$120,000)
Deliver person-centred, inclusive, and affirming mental health interventions grounded in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, with a focus on client outcomes.
Support clients experiencing complex and intersecting issues, including minority stress, trauma, suicidality, disability, neurodivergence, substance use, ageing, and domestic and family violence.
Develop treatment plans, safety plans and referral pathways that support clients to achieve meaningful wellbeing goals.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to provide coordinated, holistic care for the communities Meridian serves.
An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, with AASW membership
Minimum 3 years experience as a social worker within mental health services
Experience delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
Experience working with complex, intersectional presentations with LGBTIQA+ and HIV-affected communities

SELECTION CRITERIA
Skills and Attributes
• Advanced skills in evidence‑based, trauma‑informed and affirming therapeutic practice.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute to the success of the team
• High level digital literacy, including experience with client management systems.
Knowledge
• Key presenting and co-occurring issues for client cohort including intersectional factors influencing client presentations
• Suicide prevention approaches and frameworks including risk assessment and mitigation strategies for identified risk.
• Understanding of the ACT mental health service system and referral pathways.
• Mandatory reporting requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor or Masters of Social Work
• An Accredited Social Worker, with membership of AASW Experience
• Minimum 3 years experience as a social worker within mental health services
• Experience working with complex, intersectional presentations within LGBTIQA+ and HIV+ affected communities.
Essential
• Right to work in Australia.
• Unrestricted ACT Working With Vulnerable People Registration.
