About the role
About us
At Altrad, your growth fuels our success.
We are a trusted provider of specialist construction, maintenance, and integrated industrial solutions across Australia, partnering with major clients in energy, resources, utilities, and defense.
We go beyond building and maintaining assets, we create Impact that Matters. Every day, our people contribute to safer workplaces, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.
As part of the global Altrad Group, with over 65,000 people across 50+ countries, you’ll join a network that’s connected by purpose, driven by innovation, and united by our shared values of Solidarity, Respect, Humility, Conviviality, and Courage.
About the opportunity
Working on the Ichthys LNG project in Darwin, the Coating & Insulation Coordinator will play a central role in coordinating Campaign, Maintenance and Integrity (CMI) scopes from initial planning through to execution and close-out, on a 19:9 FIFO roster from any Australian capital city.
You’ll work closely with Altrad and the project planning, supervision, engineering, permitting and execution teams to ensure work is properly scoped, packaged and ready to go — with the right people, materials, equipment and permits in place.
With a strong focus on SAP, work readiness and execution coordination, you’ll be the key interface between planning and field delivery, helping keep maintenance priorities moving and ensuring the team can maximise productive time in the field.
The role also provides the opportunity to step into broader coordination and leadership responsibilities, including providing cover and support to the CMI Lead when required.
In this role, you will:
Coordinate CMI scopes from planning and work packaging through to execution and close-out.
Review SAP work order pipelines, priorities and schedule revisions to ensure alignment with available resources.
Coordinate materials, equipment, service orders and specialist requirements to support execution.
Work closely with planners, supervisors, permit coordinators, work package engineers and client stakeholders to ensure work is execution-ready.
Lead daily internal progress meetings and provide accurate updates to key stakeholders.
Scope work using P&IDs, isometric drawings and, where required, 3D modelling tools such as Navisworks.
Monitor work order progress, including time confirmation and progress measurement.
Coordinate engineering, drafting, fabrication and implementation vendors.
Support work package development, material take-offs and fabrication requirements.
Liaise with supervisors to prioritise planned and emergent maintenance scopes.
Provide SAP support and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Provide cover and leadership support to the CMI Lead when required.
About you
You will bring strong coordination skills, technical understanding and the ability to confidently navigate a complex maintenance environment. You will be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ensuring scopes are genuinely ready for execution.
To be successful, you will have:
Proven experience in a similar coordination role within oil and gas, energy, mining or construction.
Strong SAP experience is essential, ideally within a maintenance or project environment.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings.
Experience working within engineering or contracting environments.
Understanding of work packaging, permitting and maintenance execution processes.
Experience with Navisworks or similar modelling software is highly desirable.
Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage tight deadlines and changing priorities.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
