Technical Advisor

About the role:

We are seeking a Technical Advisor to provide technical leadership, coaching, and specialist support across our Workers Compensation Claims teams.  

As a subject matter expert, you will provide legislative guidance, support complex claim strategies, partner with external legal providers, and mentor Claims Advisors through coaching and technical support. You will play a key role in delivering positive customer and business outcomes while promoting best practice and consistency across claims teams.  

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert advice on legislation, procedures, and claim strategy
• Manage complex Workers Compensation claims, providing strategic oversight and technical direction
• Work proactively with external legal providers to progress claims efficiently and optimise outcomes
• Coach and mentor Claims Advisors through technical guidance, capability development, and best-practice support
• Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to improve claim outcomes, drive consistency, and strengthen technical capability across the business.  

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience managing Workers Compensation claims, including exposure to complex or litigated matters
• Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation and claims management practices
• Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, and influencing claim strategy and outcomes
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
• Ability to balance technical expertise with mentoring and support for broader claims teams.
